MUNGKID CITY (SUARABARU.ID) – The Borobudur Authority Agency (BOB) launched a new dance creation, named Soledo Gelangprojo, to welcome tourists visiting the super-priority destination of Borobudur.

“The concept of this dance is a combination of three dances in three districts. Namely, the Soreng dance from Magelang Regency, Lengger Tapeng from Kulonprogo, DIY and Dolalak from Purworejo,” said the President Director of the Borobudur Authority (BOB), Indah Juanita at the launch of the Soledo Gelangprojo dance at the main clan of Borobudur Temple, Monday (15/8/2022) night.

Indah said that the Soledo Gelangprojo dance was designed aesthetically with a very interesting composition. According to him, the collaboration of three dances from three regions which are buffer zones for the Borobudur Authority Agency area is one of the efforts to increase tourist attraction in the Borobudur super priority destination.

He added that the Soledo Gelangprojo dance is a symbol of unification and cohesiveness of the three regencies in Central Java Province and the Special Region of Yogyakarta.

Indah hopes that the creation of the Soledo Gelangprojo dance can accelerate economic recovery through the creative economy tourism sector in Central Java and Yogyakarta.

“By using the concept of borderless tourism, the area around tourist destinations can benefit as well as contribute to advancing tourism,” he said.

Indah explained, the merging of the three dances after going through a long study conducted by a team consisting of artists and academics in the three districts.

“The study carried out by academics and artists from the three districts is so as not to damage the basic philosophy of the three dances and still exist from the identity characteristics of each district,” he said.

Meanwhile, the Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy, Sandiaga Uno in his speech virtually appreciated the Borobudur Authority for collaborating with three Parisiwata Offices in three districts, namely the creation of the Soledo Gelangprojo dance.

“The creation of this performance art is a symbol of the unification and cohesiveness of the three districts as a form of implementing the strategy that I have implemented. Namely Geber (moving together), Gercep (moving quickly) and Gaspol (working on potential), so that they have a positive impact on increasing attractions and attractions at the Borobudur super priority destination,” said Sandi.

He hopes that the presence of the Soledo Gelangprojo dance will increase the attractiveness of the creative economy in the area around the Menoreh mountains.
